Bernard T. Destafney Joins National Penn Investors Trust Company in Philadelphia

Boyertown, Pa. – January 9, 2012 – National Penn Investors Trust Company (NPITC), a division of National Penn Wealth Management, N.A., announced that Bernard “Bern” Destafney has been named senior vice president and regional manager for Philadelphia and its suburbs. He reports to Michael Wozniski, senior vice president, director of Client Services, NPITC.

Destafney is responsible for leading National Penn Investor’s Trust Company’s initiative to develop client relationships in the Philadelphia area and for cultivating relationships with professionals in the community. National Penn Investors Trust Company provides investment management and trust services to individual, corporate and institutional clients.
“We are excited to have Bern join our team of professionals as we look to expand our presence in the Philadelphia area,” said Jim King, president and chief investment officer of NPITC. “He has significant experience in the financial services industry and is a respected, well-known professional in the Southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey markets.” Destafney is based in Philadelphia at National Penn’s One Penn Center branch.
Prior to joining NPITC, Destafney managed the trust adminstration activities for Wells Fargo and its predecessor companies in Philadelphia. He also served as a faculty member at the Pennsylvania Bankers Association Trust and Wealth Management School. He currently serves as an adjunct professor at Ocean County College in New Jersey.

Destafney earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from LaSalle University and a master’s degree in taxation from Villanova University. He resides in Toms River, NJ.
