Workforce Education Committee - The mission of this committee is to foster, support and recognize business/education partnerships to develop the optimal workforce in Chester County. The committee is proud to announce the Partnership Award (formerly the Golden Apple). Two awards are bestowed annually upon two education/business partnerships; one elementary and one middle/high Chester County school that are effectively working with a business to promote student learning, career education, and workforce development.

The committee also supports the promotion of Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) and Business Adventure, two programs that educate high school students about the American free enterprise system. If you are interested in becoming involved, contact the Chamber. The committee meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 8:30 a.m. at the Chamber. For more information contact: please send an email to info@cccbi.org.

Senator Robert J. Thompson Memorial Scholarship - The Chester County Chamber Foundation is pleased to announce the creation of the Senator Bob Thompson Memorial Scholarship. The loss of Bob Thompson was felt very deeply. We have been working with his wife, Nancy, to develop the scholarship, which will benefit students furthering their education in business, journalism communication or political science. High school seniors who are currently involved in, or have graduated from, the Foundation’s Youth Leadership Program are encouraged to apply. For an application or to make a donation to the Memorial Scholarship Fund, please contact the chamber.

Chester County Business Adventure - The Chamber Foundation is working in cooperation with West Chester University on this new and exciting business education program which is a cooperative effort between local schools and the business community in our region. It provides area high school freshmen and sophomores the opportunity to learn how our free enterprise system works. This partnership will allow youth an opportunity to address the pressing issue of workforce preparedness and development.

Throughout the four-day residential program 9th and 10th grade student participants will experience managing and marketing their own companies, while learning team building and leadership development skills. They will compete in computer-simulated business program used by the nationally acclaimed Pennsylvania Free Enterprise Week (PFEW) program.

Sponsorships are available. For more information, please call the Chamber or send an email to info@cccbi.org.
