Chester County Chamber Announces Female Business Leader of the Year – Joan Walsh, Kashbox Coaching

Malvern, PAFebruary 22, 2012 The Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry’s Women-in-Business Committee announces the winner of the 2012 Female Business Leader of the Year Award, Joan Walsh of Kashbox Coaching.

Although it was a tight race, Joan stood out as a nominee for this award. As an advocate for women, a community volunteer, Chamber activist, and accomplished entrepreneur, speaker, and author, Joan more than deserves this honor as the 2012 Female Business Leader of the Year.

Joan will receive this award at the 2012 Women-in-Business Dinner on Thursday, April 26th, 2012 from 5:30 – 9 pm at the Concord Country Club, 1601 Wilmington Pike, West Chester, PA 19382.

About Joan Walsh, the 2012 Female Business Leader of the Year:
Joan Walsh and David Herdlinger founded Kashbox Coaching in 2009. Serving more than 100 clients throughout the Delaware Valley and the United States, she has helped drive revenue growth by 35% in the last seven years. Joan serves both personal and corporate clients and conducts leadership training seminars and workshops in Pennsylvania and Delaware . As partner of Kashbox Coaching, Joan guides women to discover and nurture their passions and strengths and to develop the skills they need to maximize their personal and professional potentials.

Author of Ready, Set, Plan Go!, Strategies to Accelerate Your Success (2007), available nationally, that offers effective strategies to help readers focus, balance and accomplishment in their lives; Blazing Your Own Trail, A Guide For Women on the Way Up, based on interviews with 3 local successful women documenting their journey to success (published in 2009); and her third book, 10.5 Reasons to Hire a Coach was available in January of 2010.

A working mother of two boys pursuing their college educations, Joan is fully engaged in the community and has taken a number of leadership roles. She assisted in planning a Women’s Leadership Forum, a two-year program in which she was a keynote speaker and presented a workshop. Joan is also the co-founder of 21st Century Women’s Leadership Program focusing on entrepreneurs, business owners and women working in small to medium size businesses, with started on October 29, 2009.

Finally, Joan is an active member within the Chester County Chamber of Business and Industry.  She was a part of the committee that assisted in the Accrediation Program in 2010- 2011. The Chester County Chamber received a 4-star rating for Accreditation, making the Chamber only one of nine in the Commonwealth recognized as an accredited chamber and in the top 3% accredited in the nation.
