Public School Districts
Chester County's award-winning schools exceed national averages with higher graduation rates, higher standardized test scores and higher rates of college admission. The county represents students from 73 municipalities, two which extend beyond its border to Berks County (Twin Valley) and Lancaster County (Octorara School District). The region's 14 public school districts are one of its most valuable resources, with a high value placed on ensuring that all students flourish.
Private Schools
Chester County's quality academic standards are extended to its variety of private schools. The region's charter, religious and alternative teaching schools are designed to meet the unique needs of each child. Many of the area's private schools are included in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia system. All educational levels are represented, as well as a broad variety of curriculums and programs.
Technical and Adult Education
Chester County supports the establishment of technical training to secure a strong workforce for the future. This commitment has spawned the development of two vocational/technical schools at both the high school and adult levels. The centers offer 29 courses of instruction in fields as diverse and commercial and graphic arts, computer information systems, telecommunications, cosmetology, animal science, masonry and welding.
