United Way Recognizes the Enthusiasm and Dedication of Chester County Businesses and Organizations

More than 160 people gathered at Penn Oaks Golf Club for annual awards ceremony and kick off the 2017 workplace campaign season.

September 15, 2017West Chester, PAUnited Way of Chester County recently honored local businesses and community partners for their enthusiasm and dedication to its mission to fight for the health, education, and financial independence of each person in Chester County.

More than 160 people gathered at the Penn Oaks Golf Club recently for the annual awards presentation and to kick off the 2017 fall workplace campaign season.

Sartomer was honored with the Spirit of Chester County Award for creating a fun, enthusiastic environment for employees to learn about community needs and how they could make an impact. Their 2016 workplace campaign almost tripled the amount the company raised the previous year.

In receiving the Corporate Partners of the Year Awards, Wegmans-Downingtown was recognized for their vibrant employee campaign, corporate contributions and in-kind donations to the Live United in Color 5K and PB&J for United Way drive.

Brumbaugh Wealth Management also received this recognition for supporting United Way with corporate sponsorships, conducting an employee workplace campaign, and tirelessly advocating for others in the community to support its mission.

Community Partner of the Year
For the past 16 years, Krapf Bus Company has donated a driver and bus for an entire day for the Leadership Chester County program. The company as well as individual members of the Krapf family have also sponsored the Live United in Music events that benefit the United Way Financial Stability Center in addition to donating in-kind auction items. Workplace Campaign Chair of the Year
Frank DiSilvestro has brought a contagious enthusiasm to his role as PAC Strapping Product’s Workplace Chair for more than 15 years. As a result of his efforts, PAC Strapping Product’s total contributions have consistently increased 7 to 8 percent each year. Partner Agency of the Year
Community Volunteers in Medicine goes out of their way to speak about the services and programs funded by United Way’s Community Impact Fund. Their team also delivers primary health and dental care to more than 35,000 uninsured and the underinsured Chester County residents each year.
