Located in the Southeastern part of Pennsylvania; 30 miles west of Philadelphia; surrounded by Delaware, Montgomery, Berks and Lancaster counties in PA and bordering the states of Delaware and Maryland to the south. Chester County is situated in the perfect location for commerce and business.

Few places feature the scenic suburban setting as well as Chester County. Yet what makes the county most unique is its ability to combine this small-town feel with a high-tech metropolis. Horse races and fox hunting, covered bridges and old farmhouses, lake fishing and agriculture are all aspects of life for Chester County residents. Yet amid this quiet countryside is also a thriving economic marketplace. National and international companies are headquartered up and down Route 202, the region’s “High-Tech Corridor”. By blending countryside and commerce, Chester County has perfected the art of balance.

The county is healthy economically, with over 14,966 businesses and a labor force of almost 235,839. Traditionally, the unemployment rate has been the lowest in the surrounding five county area and median family income ranks Second Highest among Pennsylvania’s 67 counties (according to recent U.S. Dept. of Commerce analysis/census).

The County has been awarded a AAA bond rating from Standard & Poor’s, Fitch Ratings and Moody’s, the three top bond-rating agencies. Chester County is the fastest growing county in the Delaware Valley and one of the fastest growing in the entire Northeastern section of the United States. It is the highest-income county in Pennsylvania and 24th highest in the nation as measured by median household income (as of 2010).

Chester County will also benefit greatly from the Marcellus Shale discovery. Pennsylvania is 2nd only to Texas in new gas wells. This may provide much job growth and new industry opportunities for the state and Chester County. Chester County infrastructure can transport gas from Northern Pennsylvania, Ohio and Virginia to the entire East Coast Corridor.

Chester County is home to 12 school districts and 10 prestigious Universities and Graduate centers.
