HOOVER FINANCIAL ADVISORS’ PLANNER EARNS DISTINCTIVE DESIGNATION
Malvern, PA – Gerald D. (Jerry) Fahey, CFP® recently earned the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) designation, which is among the highest credentials awarded by the Internal Revenue Service. Fahey joined Hoover Financial Advisors, PC, in 2013 and is a senior financial planner.
An enrolled agent may represent taxpayers before the IRS in tax court. Only attorneys and certified public accountants have the same privilege. To qualify for accreditation, Fahey passed compliance and ethical checks, studied for more than two years and successfully completed a rigorous three-part exam (SEE). SEE or Special Enrollment Examination consists of three parts: Individuals; Businesses; and Representation, Practices and Procedures. “This wealth of tax knowledge enables me to better serve our clients,” says Fahey. “Among many tax issues, I can help them with problems and audits.”
HFA, which is headquartered on Moores Road in Malvern, was launched in 2005 by Pete Hoover, who has been an independent financial advisor for more than 35 years. Since its inception, HFA has quadrupled in size. In addition to certified financial planners, staff members include investment analysts, financial advisors, insurance and tax specialists, attorneys, a certified portfolio manager, and an information services manager. In 2016, HFA was named to the Financial Times 300 Top Registered Investment Advisers list. Four years earlier, it was selected as Small Business of the Year by Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry.
