The Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry Announces Small Business Awardees
Malvern, PA – December 17, 2012 The Chester County Chamber will continue with a special tradition in 2013: The Small Business Dinner, a Salute to the Spirit of Free Enterprise. This event is designed to show support for local small business in Chester County; it also gives the Chamber the opportunity to recognize two special award recipients: the Small Business of the Year award and the Green Business award.
The Small Business of the Year award honors one business that epitomizes the true meaning of entrepreneurship, leadership and success. To choose the winner of this prestigious award, the Small Business Advisory committee at the Chamber focuses on the company history, their success in 2012, community involvement, and overcoming obstacles. After much deliberation, the committee chose Hoover Financial Advisors as the 2012 Small Business of the Year.
After many years of experience in the financial field, Pete Hoover launched Hoover Financial Advisors, PC in 2005. As a life-time resident of Chester County, Pete Hoover created the practice to meet the needs of successful corporate executives, retirees, and local individuals. Although the field of financial planning has changed dramatically over the years, the core values of Hoover Financial Advisors have remained the same: integrity, trust and objectivity. HFA is known to customize strategy and plans uniquely matched to each client.
Longevity is one of the main keys to success for Hoover Financial Advisors: longevity in focus, clients, and staff. Pete Hoover and the employees at HFA direct their focus on one profession, one career, and one goal: provide tailor-made flexible plans for each client that enables them to achieve financial independence and the life of their dreams. The second component to success is the client longevity. Since its launch, Hoover Financial Advisors has enjoyed a 98.25% client retention rate, a remarkable record by any measure. Their confidence, gratitude, and pride are major milestones in the company’s success. Clients are proud to share their experience with Hoover Financial Advisors and eager to report that a full range of financial planning and investment management services, as well as sub-specialties are available. Staff tenure, too, merits mention. Six of eight employees have been working alongside Pete Hoover for more than 10 years, which is exceptional in the industry.
Community involvement has been a focus of HFA since its launch. In 2012, Hoover Financial Advisors reached out to help families by choosing Chester County Food Bank as its 2012 charitable partner. Earlier this year, the firm held a food and funds drive and presented the organization with a check for $1,500. Pete Hoover and members of his staff also worked in the food bank’s community gardens and helped pack boxes. A second drive HFA Funds for Food occurred in November, that program resulted in raising more than $4,000 for the food bank.
The Green Business Award recognizes a business that uses natural resources in an efficient and sustainable manner. This business may emphasize resource conservation, waste reduction, recycling and/or buying recycled products as standard business practice. Past winners have consistently shown that their practices represent substantial cost savings as well as environmental benefits. This year’s award will be proudly presented to Victory Brewing Company.
